Village pubs - a true story

Postby The_olde_brewer on Thursday 29 Mar 2012, 10:36

A local village has three pubs, one used to be good the other two were not very good. The good one closed VERY suddenly in the autumn and was closed for 6 or 7 weeks, re-opening in early December, now owned by the owner of one of the other pubs. We visited last night on our regular Wednesday night out, and were shocked. Before at 9:30 pm on a Wednesday it would be fairly busy with 30 plus people in. Last night, at 9:30 pm, there were just a small handful of people. They appeared to have run out of white wine = any white wine, and they do meals. These are difficult times, and I do not claim to have an answer. However we unanimously agreed that we would not patronise the place in the future.
